People and Place Plan (P&PP) 2025

The Parish Council has considered various options for how best to ensure the views of Kersey residents are taken account of by those making decisions which impact our area.  This includes the Parish Council, District and County Councils and any future local government organisations.  The Parish Council has decided to work on a People and Place Plan (also referred to as a Neighbourhood Priorities Statement) which will provide a collective voice to record what is important now and in the future for Kersey Residents.  Although, not a statutory planning document, the local planning authority, currently Babergh, will have a legal duty to have regard to the approved People and Place Plan when making decisions.

A People and Place Plan can cover a broad range of elements covering design and character of the area, transport and road safety, environmental sustainability,  biodiversity and the natural environment, recreation and social infrastructure.

Surveys responses from Kersey residents and community organisations have been analysed.  Action points have been drafted from this survey data.  These action points will support how residents wish to see the future for Kersey. The results are also being fed into the draft Kersey People and Place Plan.

All residents are invited to community consultation events in Kersey Village Hall on Saturday 4 October 10am-12noon or Monday 6 October 7pm-8.30pm.  Please come along and feedback your thoughts on the draft action points, vision and plan.

All Community Organisations are invited to have a stand at this event to promote themselves.  Please come to the village hall on 4th or 6th October, have a coffee/tea, feedback on the P&PP as well as finding out what is on offer in Kersey.  You may be surprised by the many different social opportunities there are!
